Medicare changes discussed
The Senior Alliance will sponsor a semi-
nar on Medicare Part D open enrollment
changes from 12:30 until 2 p.m. on Dec. 2 in
Inkster.
Medicare recipients are urged to bring
theirMedicare card and all prescriptions for
a free consultationwith a counselor who can
enroll seniors in a Medicare Part D plan,
apply for Medicare Savings Program for
Medicare Part B, apply for the Extra Help
Program for Medicare Part D and answer
Medicare questions.
The meeting is at the Booker Dozier
RecreationComplex, 2025Middlebelt Road.
Brunchwith Santa set
The annual Canton Brunch With Santa
will take place beginning at 11 a.m. Dec 4 at
the Summit on the Park in Canton
Township.
The entire family will enjoy the
Christmas Wonderland and both adult and
children's favorite foodswill be served.
Following brunch, children can share
their Christmas wish list with Santa while
posing for pictures. Parents are encouraged
to bring cameras and video equipment.
Children will also receive a holiday sou-
venir, crayons, and a placemat to color.
Santawill be arriving at 11:30 a.m. Tickets
must be purchased in advance at the
Summit Front Desk, located at 46000
Summit Parkway, during normal business
hours. Online registration is not available.
Ticket prices are: $16 for ages 13 and
older; $12 for ages 4 through 12 and children
3 and under are $4. Ticket sales will con-
clude Nov. 28. Table seating is available on a
first-come, first-serve basis.

Grief workshop planned
Ward Presbyterian Church is sponsoring
a holiday workshop for those who are griev-
ing. All adults who have experienced the
loss of a loved one are welcome at this free
workshop presented by Cathy Clough, direc-
tor ofNewHopeCenter forGrief Support.
The workshop will take place from 7-8:30
p.m. Nov. 28 in Room C-319 at Ward Church
located at 40000 SixMile Road inNorthville.
Theworkshopwill endwith a special time of
remembrance.

Goodfellows plan fundraisers
The Wayne Goodfellows are partnering
with the following businesses to hold events
to raise funds for our “No Child Without a
Christmas” in the City of Wayne Program.
The Avenue, 5-190 p.m. Nov. 30, Jake's Again,
5-10 p.m. Dec. 1, The Village Bar 5-10 p.m.
Dec. 8 andU.S. 12 from5-10 p.m. Dec. 15.
Jake's Again is in their 24th year holding a
fund raiser.
Merchants host shopping event
Downtown Plymouth will host Dashing
Through the Stores from 5-9 p.m. Thursday,
Dec. 1.
Women shoppers are invited to visit the
participating stores and fill out wish lists to
give to family, friends or significant others
plus enjoy shopping, prizes and refresh-
ments. Several restaurants will also have
special drinks, appetizers and more.

Community United Way Hats for the

Lunchwith Santa planned
The Wayne Parks and Recreation
Department will host Lunch with Santa at
the Wayne Community Center from 10:45
a.m. until 1 p.m. Dec. 3.
Tickets are prices at 44 for residents and
$5 for non-residents and the lunch includes
pizza, salad andbreadsticks.
There will also be arts and crafts projects
for children and face painting.

Proceeds will benefit the Wayne dance
and figure skating programs.
City plans tree lighting
The official lighting of the City of Wayne
Holiday Tree will take place between 7 and
7:15 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Wayne Historical
Museum.
Santa Claus, Mayor Al Haidous and the
St. Mary Youth Catholic Church Youth Choir
will be onhand.
Photos with Santa will be available for $3.
Cookies and hot chocolate will be served by
the Wayne Beautification Committee mem-
bers.

HolidayWalk planned
The City of Wayne will host a candlelit
evening of celebration from 4-8 p.m. Dec. 9
throughout the downtown area.
Merchants and residents will celebrate
the season with food, drink, events and holi-
day specials all along Michigan Avenue in
the city. Many local restaurants will be offer-
ing exclusive specials for the evening.
Volunteers are still being sought for the

Ornament workshops set
The Belleville Area Museum will have
Children's Christmas Ornament Workshops
at 10 and 11 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Dec. 10 and
again at noon, and 1 and 2 p.m. Dec. 17.
The event is sponsored by the museum
and the historical society.

Vendors sought for home expo
Applications to participate in the Canton
Township 2012 Home Improvement Expo
are now available. Space is filling up fast so
vendors are encouraged to return their
applications as soon as possible.
The 2012 Home Expo will take place
March 3 and 4 at the Summit on thePark.

The 2012 booklet will include a map of
the show and several home improvement

Christmas party tickets on sale
A limited number of tickets for the
Inkster Commission on Aging Annual
Christmas Party are now on sale at the
Senior Services office in theTwinTowers.
The party is planned for 11:30 a.m. Dec.
12 at the Dozier Recreation Complex and no
ticketswill be sold at the door.
Admission is $5 for residents and $8 for
