HolidayCardParty planned
SS Simon and Jude Church in Westland
will host a Holiday Card Party from 6:30-10
p.m. Nov. 18.
There will be door and table prizes, a 50-50
drawing, a light meal and snacks. Tickets are
$8 and available at the door.

Township tree lighting planned
Ring in the holiday season at the 33rd
Annual Canton Tree Lighting from 6-8:30 p.m.
Nov. 30 at the Summit on thePark.
Township officials first lit an official tree in
1978 and the event continues to grow, attract-
ing residents of all ages.
The event will include a variety of indoor
and outdoor activities including seasonal
entertainment, children's crafts, and refresh-
ments along with a visit from Santa Claus,
who's coming to town for a special appear-
ance.
The official lighting ceremony will take
place outside the Summit on the Park at 6:30
p.m. There is no admission fee, but a family
donation of $5 is suggested. Some activities
may require a small fee. Pre-registration is
not required.
The Tree Lighting is sponsored by
Community Financial Credit Union. Santa
Claus' station is sponsored by The Goddard
School and the ice sculpture station is spon-
sored by Renewal by Andersen. Additional
event sponsors include Choice Urgent Care,
Jack Demmer Ford and Tutor Time & Child
Time.
The event will also feature a special local
marketplace offering unique holiday mer-
chandise, crafts, gift baskets and other distinc-
tive seasonal items in the Summit on the Park
Banquet Center Lobby.
Canton Goodfellows and Canton Leisure
Services have teamed up to make sure that no
child in Canton goes without a Christmas.
Bring a new, unwrapped toy or other item to
the Summit on the Park, The Village Theater
at Cherry Hill or the Canton Administration
Building. Contributions will be accepted
throughDec. 9, 2011.

Brunchwith Santa set
The annual Canton BrunchWith Santa will
take place beginning at 11 a.m. Dec 4 at the
Summit on thePark inCantonTownship.
The entire family will enjoy the Christmas
Wonderland and both adult and children's
favorite foodswill be served.
Following brunch, children can share their
Christmas wish list with Santa while posing
for pictures. Parents are encouraged to bring
cameras and video equipment. Children will
also receive a holiday souvenir, crayons, and a
placemat to color.
Santa will be arriving at 11:30 a.m. Tickets
must be purchased in advance at the Summit
Front Desk, located at 46000 Summit Parkway,
during normal business hours. Online registra-
tion is not available.
Ticket prices are: $16 for ages 13 and older;
$12 for ages 4 through 12 and children 3 and
under are $4. Ticket sales will conclude Nov.
28. Table seating is available on a first-come,
first-serve basis.

Goodfellows plan fundraisers
The Wayne Goodfellows are partnering
with the following businesses to hold events to
raise funds for the “No Child Without a
Christmas” in the City of Wayne Program. The
Avenue, 5-190 p.m. Nov. 30, Jake's Again, 5-10
p.m. Dec. 1, The Village Bar 5-10 p.m. Dec. 8
andU.S. 12 from5-10 p.m. Dec. 15.
Jake's Again is in their 24th year hosting a
fund raiser for theGoodfellows.
Merchants host shopping event
Downtown Plymouth will host Dashing
Through the Stores from 5-9 p.m. Thursday,
Dec. 1.
Women shoppers are invited to visit the
participating stores and fill out wish lists to
give to family, friends or significant others plus
enjoy shopping, prizes and refreshments.
Several restaurants will also have special
drinks, appetizers and more. Participants this
year include: Agio Spa; Bed & Boutique/Little
Black Heart; Bella Mia; Bohemian Home;

Lunchwith Santa planned
The Wayne Parks and Recreation
Department will host Lunch with Santa at the
Wayne Community Center from 10:45 a.m.
until 1 p.m. Dec. 3.
Tickets are priced at $4 for residents and $5
for non-residents and the lunch includes pizza,
salad andbreadsticks.
There will also be arts and crafts projects
for children and face painting.

Proceeds will benefit the Wayne dance and
figure skating programs.
City plans tree lighting
The official lighting of the City of Wayne
Holiday Tree will take place between 7 and
7:15 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Wayne Historical
Museum.
Santa Claus, Mayor Al Haidous and the St.
Mary Youth Catholic Church Youth Choir will
be onhand.
Photos with Santa will be available for $3.
Cookies and hot chocolate will be served by
the Wayne Beautification Committee mem-
bers.

HolidayWalk planned
The City of Wayne will host a candlelit
evening of celebration from 4-8 p.m. Dec. 9
throughout the downtown area.
Merchants and residents will celebrate the
season with food, drink, events and holiday
specials all along Michigan Avenue in the city.
Many local restaurants will be offering exclu-
sive specials for the evening.

Ornament workshops set
The Belleville Area Museum will have
Children's Christmas Ornament Workshops at
10 and 11 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Dec. 10 and again
at noon and 1 and 2 p.m. Dec. 17.

Christmas party tickets on sale
A limited number of tickets for the Inkster
Commission on Aging Annual Christmas Party
are now on sale at the Senior Services office
in theTwinTowers.
The party is planned for 11:30 a.m. Dec. 12
at the Dozier Recreation Complex and no tick-
etswill be sold at the door.
Admission is $5 for residents and $8 for
non-residents.

Central City dancers perform
More than 125 dancers, singers and gym-
nasts fromCanton and surrounding communi-
ties will perform as part of the 8th Annual
Central City Christmas SpectacularDec. 15-18.
The show will take place at the Village
Theater at Cherry Hill at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 and 16
and at bothnoon and 5 p.m. onDec. 17 and 18.
Choreography and stage effects were
designed and produced by Tim and Tamara
Smola and Erin Kearney of Central City
Dance.
Tickets are $21 and can be purchased
through Dec. 9 at Central City Dance Center,
6700 Canton Center Road, Canton. Tickets are
reserved seating and cannot be purchased the
day of the show.
