Ken Roth, who was unopposed, gar-
nered a total of 1,236 votes in his bid for a
second 2-year termasmayor ofNorthville.
Also unopposed was Sam Ekong, an
incumbent member of the city council
who received 1,075 supporting his return
to the office. Also unopposed in his bid for
a term on the city council was Patrick
Giesa, a retired computer sales represen-
tative, who received 1,079 votes.
Only an estimated 25 percent of regis-
tered city voters participated in the elec-
tion.
Voters supported the bond proposal
from theNorthville Public Schools with 63
percent or 5,483 of voters approving the
request. No votes totaled 3,276 or 37 per-
cent of the votes on the question.
Approval of the question will allow the
school district to borrow not more than
$104,850,000 to be used for erecting, fur-
nishing and equipping school facilities,
purchasing and installing instructional
technology and purchasing school buses.
The funding will also be used to pay for
improvements and equipment at play-
grounds, sites and athletic fields and facil-
ities.

ACCESS TO PUBLIC MEETINGS
The Charter Township of Canton will provide necessary, reasonable auxiliary aids and services to individuals with disabilities at
the meeting/hearing upon notice to the Charter Township of Canton.
In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"), the Charter Township
of Canton will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs,
or activities.
Employment:
The Charter Township of Canton does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment prac-

Area runners can work up an appetite
for a good cause Thanksgiving morning by
running or walking in Canton Leisure
Services 15th Annual Turkey Trot for a
Cause starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov.
23.
All ages can join in the fight against
epilepsy by taking part in the chip-timed
5K race or 1-mile fun run that will benefit
the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, an
organization dedicated to empowering
individuals with seizure disorders. This
year, key sponsors include: Blue Cross
Blue Shield of Michigan; IHA of Canton;
The John and Dawn Savona Family and
GazelleSportsNorthville.
The racewill start at the Summit on the
Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway in
Canton, and will cover a flat course that
winds through Pheasant Run Golf course,
Heritage Park and end back at the
Summit.
"Canton's Turkey Trot has become a
real tradition for many families, staying
healthy and supporting a great cause,"
said Ann-Marie Carravallah, recreation
coordinator.
"This year's event marks the 15th
anniversary with Justin Murray as the
Grand Marshal. This race was born in
2003 after Justin was diagnosed with
epilepsy and his parents, Michael and
Terri Murray, wanted to do something to
help in the fight against epilepsy. Justin
has been seizure free since his brain sur-
gery in 2007 to remove a growth that was
causing the seizures. Now in college and
playing soccer for the UD Mercy Titans,
Justin continues to give back by support-
ing and volunteering at the Canton Turkey
Trot as well as volunteering at the
Foundation's office inSouthfield.
The Turkey Trot has raised more than
$200,000 during the past 15 years and
Canton is proud to host this event,"
Carravallah said.
Pre-registration is available online at
csc.canton-mi.org until midnight, Sunday,
Nov. 20. Registration fees are $25 for the
chipped 5K race and $15 for the 1-mile fun
run.
Participants can pick up shirts and bibs
starting Friday, Nov. 17 at Gazelle Sports at
39737 Traditions Dr, Northville, during
regular store hours. After Sunday, pick-up
will re-open from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 22 in the Summit Banquet and
Conference Center, located at 46000
Summit Parkway, Canton.
