It's aWonderful Life inNorthville
Northville High School Drama
Club students will present It's a
Wonderful Life at 7 p.m. Nov. 10, 11
and 12 and 2 p.m. Nov. 12.
General admission tickets are
$10 for adults, $8 for students and $5
for seniors.
Tickets are available at the cen-
tral office, 501 West Main St., Room
307 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. week-

Poker games aid Lions' efforts
Members of the Canton Lions
Club will be located at Three Kings
Poker Room at 8669 N. Lilley Road
(south of Joy) in Canton from noon
until 2 a.m. Nov. 11-13 selling poker
chips to individuals who play Texas
Hold 'Em and other games. Funds
raised during the three days will
provide funds to Penrickton Center
for Blind and Handicapped
Children, Leader Dog School for the
blind and local residents who are
unable to purchase necessities of
life. Funds to purchase eye glasses
for school children and elderly peo-
ple who require visual and hearing
aids are also included.

I HateHamlet is presented
The Spotlight Players will pres-
ent I Hate Hamlet, a love story,
ghost story and comedy the week-
ends ofNov. 11-13 and 18-20.
The story is performed with
audience seating on three sides and
the content is adult and not recom-
mended for children.
Curtain time is 8 p.m. Nov. 11, 12,
18 and 19 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 13 and
Nov. 20.

Women's Expo inCanton
The annual Women's Expo will
take place from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Nov. 12 at the Summit on thePark in
Canton.
More than 40 vendors will be on
hand offering products and servic-
es. The event is free, but $10
advance tickets include a continen-
tal breakfast, a premium goody bag,
health screenings and added raffle
prize tickets. No tickets will be sold
at the door.

Benefit soup supper planned
The 3rd annual benefit soup sup-
per, Have a Heart for Hunger will
take place from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 12 at
NorthvilleHighSchool.
All proceeds from the event go to
keep the Kids Against Hunger, pro-
gram funded within Northville
Elementary Schools and partner
schools, allowing children to help
out hungry families in their own
community as well as worldwide by
packaging highly nutritious, life-sav-
ingmeals.
The soup supper will take place
in the school cafeteria in between
the Northville High School Drama
Club 2 and 7 p.m. performances of
the family holiday classic, It's a
Wonderful Life. Northville area
restaurants are donating many
homemade soups, breads and
desserts. Participating restaurants
include: Table 5, Panera Bread,
Claddagh Irish Pub, Stone House
Coffee, Edwards Cafe, Hiller's, Red
Pepper Deli, LakeStreet Tavern,
The Rusty Bucket, Brick's, Poole's
Tavern, Zoup!, Buckminsters,
LeGeorge, Meadowbrook Country
Club and Walnut Creek Country
Club. Rolls and bread to go along
are being donated by Schoolcraft
College and Great Harvest Bread
Co. A dessert bar with homemade
baked goods and cupcakes is being
donatedbyTheCupcakeStation.
Advance tickets for the Have a
Heart for Hunger soup supper are
priced at $30 for a family, $10 for an
adult and $5 for children 6-12.
Children younger than 5 are admit-
ted at no cost.

Samba on Sunday
The Michigan Philharmonic will
present Musica de las Americas, a
concert of sounds from the United
States and Latin America at 2 p.m.
Nov. 13 at the Village Theater at

Appraisers come toArt House
The Northville Arts Commission
will host a third appraisal clinic
from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday,
Nov. 18. Proceeds of the event will
benefit the cultural and educational
programs of the Northville Art
House.
Robert DuMouchelle and other
members of the DuMouchelle staff
will be available to verbally
appraise antiques, art and col-
lectibles. DuMouchelle is well
known from his appearances on
PBS television, and the family's
Detroit gallery and auction house
that has served the metro area for
80 years.
Registration is strongly advised
as it is anticipated that the 15-min-
utes appraisal time slots will fill
quickly. The registration fee is $10
per item with a limit of three items
per guest. Walk-ins without prior
registrationwill be admitted as time
allows. Registration can be in-per-
son at the Northville Art House,
from 1-5 p.m. Wednesday to
Saturday, or by phone at (248) 344-
0497.
Guests may bring items such as
antiques, collectibles, family memo-
rabilia, furniture and artwork.
Large or fragile items should be
submitted by photograph. Coins,
stamps jewelry will not be
appraised at this event and there
will be no written appraisals
offered.

HolidayCardParty planned
SS Simon and Jude Church in
Westland will host a Holiday Card
Party from6:30-10 p.m. Nov. 18.
There will be door and table
prizes, a 50-50 drawing, a light meal
and snacks. Tickets are $8 and avail-

Tree of Remembrance set
The annual Tree of
Remembrance ceremony in
Belleville will take place at 7 p.m.
Nov. 21 outside the Brown Family
Center, 678 E. Huron River Dr. in

There will be an open house
beginning at 6:30 p.m. with refresh-
ments available. Participants are
encouraged to bring a weatherproof
ornament to place on the tree and
