held in the Charter Township of Canton on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The polls will be open for

Proposal 14-1 A REFERENDUM OF PUBLIC ACT 520 OF 2012, ESTABLISHING AN OPEN SEASON
FOR WOLVES AND AUTHORIZING ANNUAL WOLF HUNTING SEASONS
Public Act 520 of 2012 would:
• Designate wolf as game
• Allow an open hunting season for wolves and allow the Natural Resources Commission to schedule annual wolf hunting
seasons.
• Provide criminal penalties for the unlawful possession or taking of wolves, but shield a person who lawfully captures or
destroys a wolf from prosecution.
• Require a person who wishes to hunt wolves to obtain a wolf hunting license.
• Create a Wolf Management Advisory Council for the purpose of making nonbinding recommendations to the legislature
regarding the proper management of wolves.

Proposal 14-2 A REFERENDUM OF PUBLIC ACT 21 OF 2013, GRANTING THE NATURAL
RESOURCES COMMISSION THE POWER TO DESIGNATE WOLVES AND OTHER
ANIMALS AS GAME WITHOUT LEGISLATIVE ACTION
Public Act 21 of 2013 would:
• Allow the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) to designate animals as game for hunting purposes without legislative
action.
• Allow the NRC to establish the first open hunting season for newly designated game animals without legislative action.
• Allow the NRC to schedule a wolf hunt.
• Grant the Legislature the sole authority to remove a species from the list of designated game animals.
• Eliminate the $1.00 hunting and fishing licensing fee for members of the military, whether stationed inside or outside of
Michigan, subject to any lottery.
• Give the NRC the sole authority to regulate fishing.

The Wayne County Retirement Commission
Section 6.112 of the Wayne County Home Rule Charter appoints the Wayne county Executive and the Chairperson the Wayne
County Commission as members of the Wayne County Retirement Commission. Section 6.112 Authorizes the Wayne County
Executive to appoint a designee to represent him/her on the retirement commission.
Shall Section 6.112 of the Wayne County Home Rule Charter be amended to authorize the Chairperson of the Wayne County
Commission to appoint a designee to represent him/her on the retirement commission

Persons entitled to be registered voters in Canton Township must possess the following qualifications on or before
the day of; the election: (1) a citizen of the United States; (2) not less than 18 years of age; (3) a resident of the State of
Michigan and Canton Township for not less than 30 days prior to the election (MCL 168.492). In addition, qualified electors
must be registered to vote not less than 30 days prior to the election (MCL 168.497).
The Office of the Township Clerk, 1150 S. Canton Center Road, will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on
Saturday, November 1, 2014 for obtaining and casting absentee ballots. Qualified voters must appear in person to receive a bal-
lot.
On Monday, November 3, 2014, those requesting an absentee ballot must appear in person at the Clerk's Office no
later than 4:00 p.m. Emergency absentee ballots ONLY will be issued on Election Day, November 4, 2014.

The Canton Farmers Market

toric Cady-Boyer Barn in

Northville Civic Concern
seeks to fill empty shelves
Drama Club plans ‘Miracle’
Northville Civic Concern is looking for
help in filling empty shelves.
According to a spokesperson from the
organization, client numbers have been
steadily increasing as donations are
decreasing. The charity currently servic-
es more than 170 Northville households,
many with school-age children. “Our
shelves are bare. We are in need of all
food, but especially canned fruit, and veg-
etables, cereal, soup, peanut butter and
jelly, instant potatoes (mashed or casse-
role type), pasta side dishes (Rice or
Noodle Roni), canned tuna and canned
chicken,” she said.
The group is asking the public to help
by bringing non-expired canned or boxed
food to the Northville Civic Concern
office in The Highland Lakes Shopping
Center at 43261 West Seven Mile Road
between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. any Monday,
Wednesday or Friday. On other days or
times, food can be dropped off at Cassel's
Restaurant orWorldwideAlterations also
located in the Highland Lakes Shopping
Center. Donations are also accepted at
Genitti's Restaurant, Great Harvest
Bread Co. and the UPS Store in down-

male in the attached surveillance pho-
tos. Police believe he is responsible for
fraudulent credit card purchases at a
