as Audubon sanctuary
Fellows Creek Golf Course has
achieved designation as a Certified

sanctuary designation on the property
and is being recognized for

International.
“Fellows Creek Golf Course has shown

Doug Bechtel, executive director at
Audubon International. “Fellows Creek
Golf Course is one of 12 golf courses in
Michigan and 911 in theworld to be desig-

This certification is presented by the
Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System

“To reach certification, a course must
demonstrate that they are maintaining a
high degree of environmental quality in a
number of areas,” explained Bechtel.
These categories include: Environmental

Management, Outreach and Education,
Chemical Use Reduction and Safety,
Water Conservation and Water Quality

The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary
