Daryl Duval Mack died quiet-
ly Sept. 26, 2013 surrounded
by his loving family.
Among those left to mourn
his death and cherish his
memory are his three chil-
dren, Somersett (Michael)
Black, Justin Mack and
Nisean Mack, of Atlanta, GA;
a sister, Michel Mack; a
brother, Michael (Charlene)
Mack; two aunts, Dr. Jerri
Scott and Linda Wilson; sev-
eral other family members,
and many friends.
Mr. Mack was preceded in
death by his brother, Anthony
Mack.
Funeral services took place
at Gesu Church in Detroit
with Fr. Robert Scullen offici-
ating.
Arrangements were entrust-
ed to the Penn Funeral Home
on Inkster Road in Inkster.
Final rites were accorded by
Tri
County
Cremation
Services.

A ‘mazed’
Maybury Farm maze now open
Incumbents shun voter forum
Person of the Year names are sought
Those who haven't purchased a
Halloween pumpkin yet can find exactly
the right size and shape for a jack' o
lantern at Maybury Farmwhere the entire
pumpkin crop is on sale at half price. The
pumpkins, in many sizes, shapes, and
some with faces already painted, will be
available at half price throughOct. 31.
Proceeds from the sale are used to feed
the farmanimals during thewinter.
The annual corn maze at Maybury
Farm is also open. This year, admission
includes a trip to the farm to visit with the
farm animals including the horses, minia-
ture horses, chickens, roosters, Petey, the
Pygmy Goat, Moosetracks the goat,
Caramel the cow, sheep, ducks, peacocks,
calves, piglets, Percheron horses, llamas
andmany babies.
The 12-acre corn maze is accessed by a
wagon ride. Those who successfully com-
plete the maze by finding the eight hidden
animals will be eligible for a Meijer gift
certificate. After completing themaze, vis-
itors will be taken by wagon back to the
Welcome Center where cider, donuts,
snacks, and a toasty fire await.
Visit the Northville Meijer (Service
Center), Community Financial Credit
Union, or TomHolzer Ford in Farmington
and receive a coupon for 10 percent off
each admission.
All the proceeds from the maze are
used to pay winter feed bills for the farm
animals.
Hours are Fridays 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays;
1- 10 p.m. Saturdays and 1-8 p.m. Sundays.
Wagons to the maze leave one hour
prior to closing time through Nov. 3.

Mile between Beck and Napier (continue
½mile past the State Park entrance on the

Pumpkins of every shape and size are now on sale at half price at Maybury Farm in
Northville. Proceeds from the pumpkin sale and the ongoing Halloween Corn Maze will be
used to purchase feed for the farm animals during the winter.
A recent political forumhosted by a group
that had already endorsed opposing candi-
dates was not attended by the four incum-
bents forWestlandCityCouncil.
The three non-incumbents, Bill Campbell,
Kevin Coleman and Donna Stottlemyer
Beaupre appeared at the forum hosted by
theWestland Democratic Club. The club had
already given endorsements to Campbell
and Coleman prior to the event, to which all
seven candidates for the expiring four terms
were invited.
Incumbents Christine Cicirelli Bryant,
Meriem Kada, Michael Kehrer and Dewey
Reeves did not appear at the event or partic-
ipate in the question and answer format.
The Greater Romulus Chamber of
Commerce is now accepting nominations for
the 29thPerson of theYear.
Nominees are individuals who have
made significant contributions to Romulus
and its residents. A biographical synopsis
should be provided with the nomination,
stating reasons the candidate should be
awarded the Person of the Year honor. An
award banquet will take place next spring,
honoring the individual chosen for the
honor.
The deadline to submit nominations is
Dec. 15. Nomination forms are available at
the chamber office and on the chamber web-
site at romuluschamber.org.

In honoring Constitution Day Sept. 17 at Wick Elementary, Corporal Antonio Campbell-
Fultz of the United States Marine Corps taught students the proper way to fold raise
