Inkster women sponsor play
The Inkster Western Wayne County production of
The Vagina Monologues will take place at the Allen
Park Community Theater complex from 4-7:30 p.m.
April 27.
Inkster women are currently selling wristbands
imprinted with Stop The Violence for $1 to help fund
the production which is an effort to stop violence
against women and girls.
Tickets for the production are $15.

Annual Old Village Sale set
Historic Old Village in Plymouth will be the site of
the annual Yard and Trunk Sale from 8 a.m. until 3
p.m. Saturday, April 28.
This event has become known as the one of the
best of theDetroit areamulti-family sales. More than 25
homes and businesses will participate.
The event will start at Station 885 (885
Starkweather St, next to the railroad) and get maps to
all the homes and sale locations. Coffee and donuts
will be for sale. Station 885 is also the site of the annual
Trunk Sale where car trunks become sales area offer-
ing household goods, collectables, antiques and sur-
prises. Spaces are still for rent at $10 for the day and
are available to the public.
The Trunk Sale is a fund raiser for the Old Village
Association which promotes and helps beautify Old
Village.

Historic characters visit park
The Plymouth Historical Museum is planning to
host a "PlymouthCharacters at Kellogg Park" walk.
The walks will begin at 2 p.m. April 28 with small
groups departing every 15 minutes. The walk circles
Kellogg Park in downtown Plymouth and lasts about

Philharmonic presents Natural Gas
Enjoy a wine tasting while members of the
Michigan Philharmonic perform the music of the 60s

Caregiving conferences slated
The 11th Annual Partners in Family Caregiving
Conferences provides the information and resources
caregivers need to take care of both themselves and
their care recipients. Events will feature informational
displays, workshops, giveaways and a variety of pro-
fessionals to help caregivers find the information and
resources they need.
Free health and hearing screenings will be provid-
ed throughout the conferences. The conferences are
free to attend and are will take place throughout
Wayne County, including Canton Township and
Inkster.
Conferences have been scheduled for noon until
3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Booker Dozier
Recreation Center, 2025 Middlebelt Road in Inkster
and from 5:50-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 at Summit on
the Park. 46000 Summit Parkway inCanton.
All events are free, however, those interested in
attending are asked to pre-register by calling (734)

Caregivers and their adult care recipients are welcome

Cinco deMayoDinner planed
The Friends of Michigan Animals Rescue group is
planning the fifth Annual Cinco de Mayo Dinner as a
fundraiser for the Belleville facility
This year the event will take place at the Ypsilanti
Eagles Hall, 2935Holmes Road in Ypsilanti. The doors
will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 on
May 5.
Tickets are $25 per person and include the buffet
of Mexican dishes, desserts, non-alcoholic beverages
and musical entertainment. There will also be a cash
bar and several raffle prizes.

Rotary plans Derby celebration
Huge flowered hats and elaborate daytime cos-
tumes are expected to fill the Wayne Community
Center May 5 when the Wayne Rotary Club and
Wayne Parks and Recreation Department present a
Kentucky Derby Celebration.
The event will feature faux wagering on pre-taped
horse races, tailgate food catered by Chef Tony of the
Ford Vo-TechCenter and a cash bar.
Tickets, priced at $20 per person, are now on sale
at theWayne Community Center and can also be pur-
chased from Wayne Rotary Club members. The pro-
ceeds from the event will be used to fund community
projects of the Parks and Recreation Department and
the Rotary Club.
Derby dressy attire is suggested and there will be a
Best Dress and Best Hat contest during the evening.
There will also be a live auction, raffle baskets, a 50/50
drawing and lots of "wagers" on Triple Crown races
from the past.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. and food will be
served at 6:30 p.m.

Bowling event aids animal shelter
A 9-pin No Tap Tournament is planned at Romulus
Lanes beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday May 11 to benefit
the newRomulus Animal Shelter.
The event is dedicated to the memory of Frank
Ayers and registrationwill begin at 6:30 p.m.
The cost is $25 per person which includes mystery
games for both men and women, snacks and cash
prizes. There are only 72 spots available so early regis-
tration is suggested. There will also be prizes and a
50/50 raffle.

Belleville High School Class of 1992 20-year
reunion will take place from 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Sept.

New Horizons Band of Canton members are preparing for their family friendly and
