Stonefly search scheduled
Friends of the Rouge has scheduled the
annual Winter Stonefly Search from 9 a.m.
until 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at the
Environmental Interpretive Center at the
University of Michigan Dearborn campus,
located at 4901EvergreenRoad inDearborn.
All volunteers will be pre-assigned to
teams that will travel to two stream sites
where they will sort thorough samples col-
lected by team leaders. Results of the
Stonefly Search will be provided to the
Alliance of Rouge Communities, the State of
Michigan, volunteers and others.
No prior experience is necessary but pre-
registration is required.

Children and minors are welcome as long as
they are accompaniedby one adult per child.
Groups larger than six must be split and vol-
unteers must have their own transportation
to sampling sites. Carpooling is encouraged.

Helpwith grief offered
Arbor Hospice is offering a round of free
grief support programs inPlymouth. Support
groups and events are open to everyone,
regardless of whether their loved one
received services from Arbor Hospice. All
programs are free, but donations are wel-
come.
An eight-week group, Loss of a Spouse or
Partner, will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. Jan.
26 throughMarch 16 at Arbor Hospice, 40500

PARCproject meeting set
PARCMove Forwardwill be the topic of a
public meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Penn
Theatre in downtown Plymouth, across from
KelloggPark.
The group is supporting a proposed re
purposing of the Central Middle School
property to a community center.
No pre registration is requested for the
free informational meeting, which is open to
the public.
Health careworkshop planned
The Chambers of Commerce fromWayne,
Westland, Romulus and the Belleville Area
are sponsoring aworkshop on theAffordable
Care Act beginning with registration at 12:30
p.m. Jan. 29.
Guest speaker Steve Salinski will present
an opinion-free business seminar that covers
theAffordableCareAct.
The event will take place at the Wayne
County Community College District Western
Campus located at 9555 Haggerty Road in
Belleville.
The workshop will continue from 1-3 p.m.
and is free of charge.
Pre-registration is requested as a boxed
lunch is included for attendees.

Daddy Daughter Dance set
The City of Plymouth Recreation
Department will sponsor the third annual
Daddy Daughter Dance from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 31 or Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014.
The dance will take place at the Cultural
Center Reception Room, 525 Farmer in
Plymouth and will include a DJ, light
refreshments and snacks. Souvenir photos
and packages will be available to order.
Semi-Formal, dressy-casual attire is recom-
mended.
Advance ticket purchase is required and
no walk-ins will be accepted. The cost is $10
per person.

Library hostsmuseumspeaker
The Wayne Public Library will host a
speaker from the Yankee Air Museumbegin-
ning at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
The topic will include bombers that made
World War II victory possible and the impor-
tance of theWillowRun Bomber Plant in the
Allies' triumph.

Arts council birthday party set
The Plymouth Community Arts Council
will celebrate the 45th birthday of the organi-
zation with a party and silent auction
fundraiser from 7-10 p.m. Jan. 31 at their
offices, 774N. SheldonRoad inPlymouth.
Wine, hors d'oeuvres and desserts along
with livemusic are planned.
RSVPs are recommended but tickets are
not required.

Art Housemembers exhibit work
The 8th Annual Members Exhibit at the
Northville Art House is planned from Feb. 7
throughMarch. 1.
The exhibition will open with a reception
from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 7 and continue from 1-5
p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. This
yearly showwas designed to say thank you to
everyone who has supported the growth and
creativity of the arts in Northville as the
artist members exhibit their various tech-
niques and styles.
