the show as she was the very first
one. “Itmust be love,” she said.
Every year, the pair addsmore fea-
tures and special attractions to the
event, as well as keeping many that
have proven to be crowd favorites.
This year, artist KristenDillenbeck
Anderson of New York will return
with her three-dimensional living art
mural. The former Canton Township
resident includes living figures in her
artwork that turns heads every year.
This year, Dillenbeck and the living
mural project will be at the intersec-
tion of Main Street and Ann Arbor
Trail all weekend.
Dillenbeck's sister, Erin, will also
be overseeing another of the favorite
attractions at the festival, a chalk
reproduction of a famous piece of art-
work created on the pavement. This
year she has chosen a Pablo Picasso
work which will be a work in
progress by a teamof young artists all
weekend at the corner of Main Street
andPenniman.
“She's very pregnant but has a
wonderful team of artists who will be
doing the mural over the weekend,”
Rork said.
Musical entertainment will be pro-
vided by the One Love Reggae Band,
back, Rork said, by popular demand.
The band will perform all three days
at the corner of Forest Avenue and
AnnArbor Trail.
My Adventure Theater will also
attract crowds, Rork said. This is an
interactive family-friendly theater
experience that encourages audi-
ence participation. Characters are
chosen from the audience, costumed
on the spot and narrated through
action-filled, laugh-packed adven-
tures complete with songs and danc-
ing. The attractionwill be in the heart
of Kellogg Park all weekend, too, she
said.
Something else Rork said she
expects will attract crowds is “crazy
photo booth area.” This is the
“ridiculous fun” of MammothBooth.
This is a modern rendition of the
photograph booth where couples or
groups can step in front of the back-
drop and use the remote to take silly
photos that show up on a high-defini-
tion screen instantly. The photos are
all available online for free down-
load, sharing and tweeting the follow-
ing day.
The MammothBooth will be near
the corner of Main Street and
Penniman all weekend and there are
discount coupons available.
Rork, who has been at every Art-
in-the Park since she was a toddler,
advises visitors to take it slow and
enjoy all the attractions interspaced
with the artists' exhibits.
“There really is something for
everybody,” she said. “Wewant every-
one tohave a great time.”
