The interactive ice sculptures will
be back, too, including the Ice Throne
where somany people take photos.
“We have scaled it back to a real
community event this year. It's a man-
ageable size and we think we can cover
our costs, which is pretty important,” he
added.
Fund raising for the event was some-
thing new for him, Geitzen explained,
and he was surprised at the time and
effort management of that aspect of the
event takes.
“We are on target, right now, to reach
110 percent of our goal,” he said, about
two weeks prior to the event, so that
really speakswell of our sponsors.”
Geitzen's one fear is, of course, the
one thing no one can control, the
weather.
“Hey, if it gets to be 80 degrees, we'll
just truck in sand and have a beach
party,” he saidwitha smile.
