Chicken Sunday
Annual Barbeque is main fundraiser for Rotary Club
They continue to pursue perfection
even though the members of the
Plymouth Rotary Club Chicken
Barbeque Committee find making any
improvements a difficult task.
From 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 the
committee, along with the 90 or so club
members, 700 student volunteers and
many others, will prepare, grill, pack-
age and deliver more than 11,000
chicken dinners to an eager crowd
who have been anticipating the treat
for at least a year.
Committee members this year
include Chairman Scott Wirgau, Paul
Opdyke, Rich Eisiminger, Mike
Sullivan, John Bazuvis, Jeff Stella and
Bill Weber. Kay Linville, the chairman
last year, also acts as an advisor to the
committee.
Not much has changed about the
annual chicken barbeque over the last
56 years for good reason. The populari-
ty of the event has proven they have a
winning formula that doesn't need
much fixing.
