Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy

Inkster, in connection with the fatal hit
and run that killed Michael Cavanaugh,

nounced dead from injuries sustained in
the crash.
The defendant turned himself into
police at the 6th Precinct on Aug. 20 and
was placedunder arrest.

said public safety is a vital service that
government provides.

increase would lead to cuts in funding
for fire, police and other essential serv-
ices.

Police said that the depart-

the suspects. As part of the inves-
tigation, officers executed search
warrants at a residence in the

center in Taylor, a Metro PCS
store also in Taylor and a Shell
Gas Station on Eureka Road in

detectives recovered about 35
iPad devices during those war-
rant searches. They arrested a
17-year-old suspect from Taylor
and are still actively seeking two
other suspects in the case. The
three suspects were captured on
surveillance video and were
seen coming through a door with
broken glass. All were wearing
hoodies on the videotapes. Police
said there were three break-ins
at the school located onHarrison
Road.
Police said they would be
seeking charges against any indi-
viduals involved with receiving,
selling or concealing the stolen
items which will be returned to
Romulus Community Schools in
