Photoshop from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
July 19, at Risen Christ Lutheran Church,
corner of Ann Arbor Road and
McClumpha.
Participants need a computer loaded
with Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
(check out the 30 day trial version); a
mouse or a stylus - track pads and the like
will be much too limiting; a bag lunch
and/or snacks for yourself; sense of
humor and enough smiles to accept the
challenge; a thumb drive or CDcapability
- class images will be provided, but you
can bring your own favorite if you get
ahead.

Plymouth chamber sets golf outing
More than 101 players have already
signed on to play in the annual Plymouth
Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing July
21 at the Golden Fox Course. The course
was designed by Arthur Hills to be remi-
niscent of theScottish seaside courses.
The event is a scramble that will
include lunch, dinner, plus an open bar
throughout the day and on the course. All
company foursomes receive a sign on the
course. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.,
with tee-off at 11 a.m. Box lunches will be
available in the club house or to take on
the course. The cost is $205 per golfer or
$820 per foursome.

YoYoCamp offered
The City of Plymouth Department of
Recreation in cooperation with Duncan
Toy Crew demonstrator, Jake Maloney,
will be hosting a summer Yo-Yo/Juggling
Camp for students ages 8-14. The camp
will be offered from 10:30 a.m. until noon
Monday-Friday, July 21-25 at the
Plymouth Culutral Center. Advanced reg-
istration is required at the Recreation
Office or on-line [https://plymouthweb-
trac.net/ wbwsc/miplymouwebtrac.wsc/
wbsplash.html?wbp=1]. The cost of the
camp is $45 and City of Plymouth resi-
dents will receive a discounted price for
the class.
At the end of the week, students can
participate in the novice division (and
win prizes) at the Mideast Regional yo-yo
contest scheduled to take place at the
Plymouth Cultural Center July 26. Camp
fee includes one yo-yo, extra string, and
the use of juggling equipment. Bring
your own yo-yo, juggling equipment, etc.
or purchase at a discount price at camp.
Equipment will also be available to bor-
rowduring class.

Romulus festival planned
The 73rd Annual Romulus Community
Festival, also known as the Jones Sub
Festival, will take place July 25 through
July 27 at the T.J. Coleman Center, 35351
Beverly Road in Romulus, just east of
WayneRoad.
The Community Talent Show is
planned for 5-9 p.m. July 25 with D.J. Roy
Williams and games and refreshments.
The event will continue from noon
until 9 p.m. Saturday, July 26 with pony
rides for children younger than 12, food
andmusic all day.
From 2-8 p.m. Sunday, July 27, there
will be performances by church choirs,
praise dancers and other guests.
Vendors will be on hand each day and
visitors are urged to bring their own lawn
chair.
The event is open to the public but no
alcohol or pets will be allowed. For infor-

Chicken dinner served
The Romulus VFW Post 9568 will host
a Barbeque Chicken Dinner with enter-
tainment by Brian Bosman beginning at 5
p.m. July 25.
The cost is $7 for dinner or $10 for din-
ner and the show.
All proceeds will be used to benefit the
Romulus VFW Honor Guard Mackinac
BridgeLaborDayWalk.

KidsHistory Kamp set
The Plymouth Historical Museum is
planning the third annual History Kids
Kamp from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday,
July 26. Children can experience aspects
of the Civil War by recreating what life
was like during the war, including dress-
ing in period clothing, getting their pic-
ture taken, as well as a chore race con-
sisting of old-fashioned tasks from the
mid-1800s. There will also be a scavenger
hunt, which will entertain and educate
while they search for clues to solve a puz-
zle. Children will be able to chat with
Civil War soldier reenactors who can
answer questions, demonstrate march-
ing, and much more. The boys will be
given the opportunity to "enlist" in the
army.
Tickets purchased by July 18 are $35
per child; after that date tickets are $40;
alternatively, the purchase of a new or
renewed Daisy membership to the
Plymouth Historical Museum (value $50)
will allow one child to attend for free.
The target age for children is 6 to 12 years
old; however, children under 8 will need
to be accompaniedby an adult.

Concours d'Elegance returns
The Concours d'Elegance will return
to St. John's in Plymouth Township on
Sunday, July 27.
This is the 36th year for the exhibition
of world-class collectors' automobiles.
One featured class this year, the
Evolution of the Sports Car, will feature
the 1919 Paige 6-66 Daytona Speedster
Prototype and the first Nash-Healey
Roadster, regarded as the first true
American sports car.
Seniors head toComerica
A group from the Romulus Senior
Center will attend the Detroit Tigers'
baseball games at Comerica Park July 31
against theChicagoWhiteSox.
A limited number of tickets are avail-
able for each game at $25 each. The fee
includes round-trip bus transportation to
the game from the Senior Center, starting
at 11 a.m. Game time is 1 p.m.

Basketball Camp offered
Grace Center for Life is offering a bas-
ketball skills camp for boys and girls in
grades 1-9 from9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Aug 4, 5
and 6.
Day camp cost is $75 per child and
there is a discount for siblings from the
same family.
The camp will take place at Tyler
Elementary School, 42200 Tyler Road in
Belleville.
Included each day is a snack, a camp t-
shirt, guest speakers and a participation
certificated.

City hosts golf outing
The City of Plymouth Recreation
Department will host a golf outing at the
Inn at St. John's Aug. 14. There will be a
9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
The cost is $125 per person or $500 for
a foursome. The fee includes a cart (two
per foursome), golf, door prize, awards,
on-course beverages, lunch, dinner, 50/50
raffle, prize raffles andmemories.
All proceeds go to recreation pro-
grams, supplies, equipment, and facility
improvements.
The department is still accepting raffle
