The 2013 Romulus Farmers Market
Season will be holding a Health and
Wellness Kickoff event on Saturday June 1.
The event will include a variety of vendors
offering homemade baked goods, fresh
eggs, and handmade crafts. This is the first
in the series of special events scheduled for
the first Saturday of every month during
market season.
This year, the Romulus Farmers Market
has partnered with the Michigan State
University Extension Office and there will
be personnel from the extension office at
the market for the first Saturday events
from June through September. They will
offer education about fresh spring salads,
nutrition and theMichiganFreshwebsite.
Market days take place from 9 a.m. until
2 p.m. on Saturdays, June through October
in downtownRomulus at the pavilion at the
intersection of Goddard andHunt streets.

DESCRIBED LANDS: Lexington Square Subdivision, Charter Township of Canton, Wayne County, Michigan
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT, on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 7:00 pm in the Township Hall of the Charter Township of Canton, 1150
South Canton Center Road, Canton, Michigan, the Township Board shall meet for the purpose of hearing comments and objections
regarding the proposed Lexington Square Road Repair Improvement Project, including on the proposed construction plans and cost
estimate.
The proposed project is public road repair and reconstruction and necessary drainage improvement to portions of all roads within
Lexington Square Subdivision, with a total estimated project cost of $484,500 to benefit the parcels of privately owned and used land
with frontage on those public roads in the special assessment district against which the cost of the improvements would be assessed.
The tax parcels numbers of the 126 properties are:
A copy of the plans and cost estimates are on file with the Township Clerk and at the Township Municipal Services Department,
Engineering Services Division, 1150 South Canton Center Road, Canton, Michigan, for public examination during normal business
hours.
Appearance and protest at the hearing is required in order to appeal the matters to be considered at the hearing to the State Tax Tribunal.
An owner or party in interest, or his or her agent, may appear in person at the hearing to protest the special assessment, or shall be per-
mitted to file his or her appearance or protest by letter and his or her personal appearance in such case shall not be required.

The Inkster Public Library Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed library budg-
et for fiscal year July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014 at the Inkster Public Library, 2005 Inkster

PUBLIC NOTICE
Sealed bids will be received in the office of the Romulus Housing Commission, located at
34200 Beverly Road, Romulus, Michigan, on May 30, 2013, until 11:00 a.m. local time.
The scope of work includes select replacement of existing concrete pavements, grind
select areas of existing sidewalks and drives, tuck point select areas of exterior brick, seal
existing holes and penetrations on exterior brick, remove select trees, replace select areas
of chain link fencing.
Plans and specifications may be obtained from the Housing Commission office building
on or after May 13, 2013. A refundable deposit of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) in the form of a
money order or check will be required for each set of Drawings and Specifications taken
up to a maximum of (3) three sets. The deposit shall be refunded in full with conditions as
stated in the notice to bidders.

Family plans fundraiser to help Romulus graduate
Special event marks opening of Farmers Market
Thunder Rolls into Belleville
A third generation Romulus High
School graduate is in need of some
help fromher home town.
Leah Cotham, who graduated from
Romulus High School in 2002, suf-
fered amassive stroke last October.
Medical bills have continued to
increase during Cotham's extensive
rehabilitationwhich includes physical
therapy as she relearns to walk and
fights formobility onher left side.
According to her aunt, LaVerne
Cotham, her progress is "phenome-
nal," but the expenses continue to
mount.
A bowling fundraiser has been
planned from 3-6 p.m. May 25 at
Romulus Lanes/Michael B's Bar &
Grill to help the Romulus family
defray some of the expenses.
Cotham's father, Ken Cotham, grad-
uated from Romulus High School in
1981 and her mother is a 1981 gradu-
ate of John Glenn High School in
Westland. Her paternal grandparents,
Bobby Gene and Fay (Tally) Cotham,
both graduated from Romulus High
School in 1958
After her graduation, Cotham
earned a degree in radiology at
Washtenaw Community College and
prior to her stroke she was a radiolo-
gist technician for Alpha Medical
Equipment ofNewYork.
A $25 donation at the door of the
fundraiser will include three games of
bowling and pizza. There will be raf-
fles, prizes and a classic car show -
weather permitting, LaVerne Cotham
said.

For the ninth year, Thunder Rolls is
planned in Belleville on Memorial Day, May
27.
The annual motorcycle ride and
Memorial Day service to honor veterans will
begin with registration and a line up of bikes
at 11 a.m. in the parking lot of Wayne County
Community College. The lot is located off
Haggerty and I-94, exit 192 then north on
Haggerty.
The ridewill officially start at 1 p.m.
The memorial service will begin at about
2-2:30 p.m. after the riders arrive at the
Belleville Veteran's Memorial in Horizon
Park.
There is a $10 registration fee to be paid
at the time of signup.
