Members of the Inkster com-
munity are mourning the death
of well-known businessman
Fedele Bello, the owner of
Bello's Pizzeria, who died April
4.
Mr. Bello, 77, owned and
operated his business in the
community for more than 30
years. Born April 21, 1937 in
Italy, he immigrated to the area
in 1967 with his wife and two
children. He became the father
of two more children while liv-
ing in Michigan. He worked
four jobs, according to his son,
FredBello, in his efforts tomake
a better life for his family.
He opened Bello's Pizzeria
on April 1 of 1976, when restau-
rants in the Inkster community
were scarce and kept his busi-
ness operating in the community
for more than 30 years, finally
closing in July of 2006. During
that time, his son said, he
opened three more pizzerias
and continued to work seven
days a week until his death due
to lung cancer.
“His passion was his work
and his family,” his son said. “He
helped keep so many young kids
in Inkster out of trouble while
giving them work to do. He had
somany loyal customers fromall
over,” he added. Mr. Bello was
known for his unstinting gen-
erosity and provided clothing
and help to his employees and
often gave credit to customers
facing hard times so that they
would not go hungry. His son
said that Mr. Bello was always a
friend to the Inkster fire and
police departments.
“Hewas known as Papa Bello
to so many young kids in the city
who did not have fathers,” he
said. “If his kids were
healthy...and the bills were
paid...he gave back whatever
was left. I know he will be
missed by somany,” he said. “He
truly loved the people in
Inkster.”
Mr. Bello lived in Dearborn.
Among his survivors are his
wife, Teresa and his children,

Bello, Fred (Romina) Bello and
