Fish dinner includes baked or fried fish,
baked potato or French fries, vegetable, Cole
slaw and a roll. Children's meals are also
available, with nuggets or one piece of fish,
French fries, vegetable slaw and a roll. Cost is
$9 for adults and $4 for children. Home made
pies are also available for $1 a slice.

Lenten Fish Fries planned
St. Aloysius Catholic Church will host all-
you-can-eat fish fries from 4:30 until 7 p.m.
every Friday during Lent, continuing
March15 and 22.
Dinners include fried fish, macaroni and
cheese, seasoned potatoes or French fries,
green beans, Cole slaw, dinner roll, dessert
and a beverage.
Adult dinners are $8, children 10 and
younger $4 and those younger than 3 eat free
with an adult dinner purchase.
Carry out dinners are $8.

'Friends' plan fundraiser
The Friends of Robin Murphy are hosting
a pre-St. Patrick's Day fundraiser to benefit
Murphy, a Westland resident without health
insurance suffering from Primary
Immunodeficiency Disease. Without expen-
sive monthly treatments, Murphy's body can-
not fight off infection.
The event includes a pasta dinner with
beer, wine and soft drinks from 5:30 until 8:30
tonight, March 14 at Bova V.F.W. Hall, 6440
HixRoad inWestland.
The cost is $30 for leprechauns and $10 for
lads and lassies. There are sponsorships
available at $250 and $100. Dinners are being
catered by Marvaso's Italian Grille in
Westland.

Higher Rock Café, an evening of Christian
music, fellowship, games and concessions at
7:30 p.m. the fourthFriday of themonth at the

Chamber hosts
Comedy Night Auction andDinner
The Romulus Chamber of Commerce will
present a Comedy Night Auction and Dinner
from 6:15 until 11 p.m. March 15 at the
Marriott Metro Airport Hotel, 30559 Flynn
Dr., Romulus.
Tickets are $45 per person for the event
which will feature the comedy of Jason
Cooper who has been seen on Comedy
Central, the Bob & Tom Radio Show, ESPN
and as an opening act for Ron Whites,
Michael Buble, Foreigner, The Doobie
Brothers and others.
Also performing comedy routines will be
professional comedians Ron Sweet and Chris
Young.
The Silent Auction will feature sports tick-
ets, artwork, electronics and much more.
There will be a cash bar open throughout the
evening. The chamber is still accepting dona-
tions fromlocal businesses for the auction.

Shamrock 'NRoll seeks runners
Registration is still taking place for the
upcoming Shamrock 'N Roll Running Races
in Plymouth. The events will start and finish

The event will take place on Sunday,
March 17 with a 1-mile and certified 5K and
10KCourses.

Spotlight presents Sound of Music
More than 50 young actors, ages 5-18, will
appear in the Spotlight on Youth production
of The Sound ofMusic.
The musical will be presented only five
times, at 7 p.m. March 14, 15 and 16 and at 2
p.m. March 16 and 17 at theVillageTheater at
Cherry Hill in Canton, 50400 Cherry Hill
Road.

March 15 is the deadline to reserve a seat

English will speak about the state of the busi-

City celebrates holiday
Five local bars in the City of Wayne will
mark St. Patrick's Day with green beer, music

Seniors are invited to attend a free St.

Calendar of events
TheWestland Jaycees will sponsor the
16th Annual Easter Egg Scramble begin-
ningwith registration at 12:30 p.m. March
23, at Jaycee Park, at the corner of
Hunter and Wildwood in Westland. The
Easter Egg Scramble, is broken up into
age groups, is a free event targeted
towards children 14 and under in the
Westland Community. The Easter Egg
Hunt will begin at 1 p.m.
In addition to the scramble, there will
be pictures with the Easter Bunny and
other activities for children to choose
fromwhile they arewaiting for their turn
on the field. “In the past we've had activi-
ties like fingerprinting, a bouncer and
fire trucks for the kids to check out,” said
Danny Austin, Jr., 56th president of the
Westland Jaycees, “I'm really excited to
see what this years' committee does to
step things up.”
The Westland Jaycees are a local
organization dedicated to training young
leaders through community service. The
Westland Jaycees have been responsible
for past events such as the Patriots Day
ceremony, Tribute to The Stars, and the
Annual Easter Egg Scramble. They have
alsoworkedwith other organizations like
theWomen ofWestland on events such as
50's with a Mission. Proceeds from this
event will be used to continue proving
