is a professional cleaning service in
the public lavatory provided near The
Gathering, which she said was a need-
ed amenity for families.
Rork and Quinn have seen a lot of
unplanned for situations during their
tenure working on the festival. They
recalled trying to find and then renting
umbrellas for the picnic tables provid-
ed near the food vendors because of
predicted scorching temperatures,
finding a truck, picking up and hauling
the unwieldy umbrellas to the area,
only to find there were no holes in the
tables to support them.
“No matter how prepared you are,
you never know what's going to hap-
pen,”Rork said.
Rork said she is looking forward to
her expanded role, but that she didn't
expect Quinnwouldbe too far away.
“Our headquarters is still in her
basement,” she said, “at least for a
while.”
All in
the family
First time Art In The Park
volunteers Dylan Rork,
11, and sister, Lily Rork,
8, helped their mother,
Raychel Rork and grand-
mother, Dianne Quinn,
tape off and measure
spaces for artists' booths
this year. While Dylan
has "stamped a lot of
envelopes" in his past
efforts to help with the
event, this is his first year
as a third-generation vol-
unteer, Quinn said. Rork
noted that the pair didn't
last too long at the task
but both will be on hand
during the three-day
event.
